In the 90's we developed technologies for pumping oil more efficiently from miles below the surface. The video is a screen capture of the DeepString (©1990) simulation tool used for designing improved and optimized pumping systems and settings. This clip of the startup shows only the structural forces, and a startup sequence without 'pounding'.

Other software views/modes allow fatigue life, available pumpjack equipment parameters, fiberglass and steel sucker rod properties, and well depth to be entered or modified. Outputs include optimum string construction and cost, bbl per day, energy consumption, fatigue life imbalance, obstruction location discernment, etc.
