Use our components or complete solution know-how to rapidly and inexpensively develop and/or accomplish multidisciplinary simulations of your technology in its environment, while pinpointing the
development areas offering maximum gains in cost efficiency or
performance per R&D dollar spent.
Customers have also used our communications, middle-ware,
visuals, diagnostics, version control, and other libraries to support or form their
own computational algorithm, testing, or remote monitoring systems.
These two pictures are part of a complete launch-to-space-station-docking simulation. The expertise and software contributed by our engineers helps enable simulation and control elements, distributed in NASA centers across the U.S., to interact in real time. The resulting simulations allowed design and requirements verifications to be accomplished at a more than ten-fold decrease in time and expense. The same project can recycle its product into training simulators.
At left is a Helios screen capture of part of a Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) facility, showing a simple tower simulated along with some of its surrounding heliostats. The Package calculates kWh solar power production over 1 year an hour at a time, and calculates financial feasibility (e.g. capital outlay, rates of return), including the effects of shadow, atmosphere, temperature, latitude, weather databases, etc. Available simulation views typically also include
color graphics for key metrics (e.g. flux distribution for central solar
tower power plant receivers), false color views, and, of course,
economic charts and figures.
The tower view to the right shows the solar flux distribution at a specified receiver location and orientation, using a particular heliostat field control algorithm.
